GraceWay Church

Organization Description:

GraceWay Church is endeavoring to become a multi-ethnic congregation of believers in the Woodlawn community of Baltimore County.

The strategy of our church is to encourage discipleship, ministry, evangelism and fellowship primarily through the Small Group. We grow larger through the large group worship on the Lord’s Day and the small group experience during the week.

The purpose for GraceWay Church is: "Pointing the Way to Transformation in Jesus Christ." Each of the ministries of our church is tasked with supporting this objective by developing ministry strategies that contribute to GraceWay’s purpose. Our desire is to create environments that transform people spiritually (salvation and growth) and foster relationships.

God is directing our church to lay the foundation for our vision in two major ways. First, to form a leadership team that facilitates the fulfillment of our church’s purpose(s) for existence: Worship, Evangelism, Discipleship, Fellowship and Ministry.

We have also retired our Sunday School and traditional Midweek Prayer and Bible Study service and encouraged our membership to attend a GraceWay LIFE Group (small group) in their neighborhood. Last count we have over 60% participation compared to less than 20% attendance with the traditional model.

We have decentralized ministry and employed environments in order to focus our resources. KidzSpace, LightHouse, RPM, StudentQuest and AromaHouse and other environments at GraceWay help to meet our objective of fulfilling the five purposes for our church’s existence.

God is also directing our church to reach out to our community through Ministry Evangelism. Last year we reached our community through partnerships with other churches and events such as our Back to School Party and Birthday Party for Jesus. This year we have already reached our community through Video Game Tournament. Later this year we will be hosting a Vacation Bible School, constructing an outdoor basketball court and hosting a Community Barbeque Cook-off Contest!
