Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity
GMHFH is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Affiliates contribute to the overarching goal of eliminating poverty by addressing the specific needs of the communities they serve. At Greater Manchester, we serve the towns of Manchester, Hooksett, Candia, Auburn, Derry, Londonderry, Litchfield, Bedford and Goffstown.
Established in 1992, Greater Manchester has built 6 homes and helped local, low-income homeowners with more than 12 smaller projects. Right now, GMHFH is in the process of rebuilding and re-establishing our presence in the community; we hope to increase the number of houses built in order to better serve the people in need.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience GodÂ’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends.
Our partnership purpose is to to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world in four major ways: 1) By working in cooperation with God’s people in need to create a better habitat in which to live and work; 2) By working in cooperation with other agencies and groups which have a kindred purpose; 3) By exemplifying the gospel of Jesus Christ through loving acts and the spoken and written word; and 4) by enabling an expanding number of persons from all walks of life to participate in this ministry.
