Guide My Words

Organization Description:

Guide My Words provides online Conversation Partners for students around the world. We use free instant messaging services to talk with students. Some students like to email their tutor to have an English pen-pal (or key pal). Students can ask for Bible lessons or just practice their English with a new friend.

Locally, Guide My Words hopes to help churches create ESL (English as a Second Language) classes and Bible studies to assist our neighbors.

Mission Statement:

Guide My Words is a non-profit English language ministry seeking to serve God by serving the nations. Guide My Words desires to share the love of God with English language learners from all over the world. We want to develop true friendships with our students and meet their needs to the best of our ability. We want to help build their confidence and see them achieve their language goals. But most importantly, we want our students to discover a deeper understanding of who God is and how much they mean to him.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

The Bible is the Word of God. It is divinely inspired by God and is without error. The Bible is the ultimate authority for every aspect of our lives.

There is one and only one living and true God. God is eternal and reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Mankind is separated from God because of sin and disobedience. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and that grace was demonstrated by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.

In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, God the Son was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived a perfect life and presented himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all mankind by dying upon the cross. He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where he sits at the right hand of God the Father. He will return in the flesh one day to establish His kingdom on Earth. He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man and it is only through Jesus that there can be a reconciliation between God and man.

There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Salvation is a gift of God?s grace. This gift is received by faith in Christ and a desire to become what the Bible calls a ?new creation? or regeneration. It is a change of heart brought about by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The gift of salvation is expressed by an individual?s repentance, recognition of the death of Christ as full payment for sin, and acceptance of the risen Christ as Savior, Lord and God.

There will be a final resurrection of all mankind. When God chooses to end this world, there will be a final judgment of all men. Those who have found salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, will be resurrected into everlasting life and joy with God in heaven. Those who have rejected faith in Jesus Christ will be resurrected into everlasting punishment.

It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations. The new birth of man's spirit by God's Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Missionary effort is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations. It is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness supported by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ.
