For His Glory Ministries
The first phase of the vision, and the one that will be most accessible to kids, will be an on-line comic series. A boy named Tommy will be the main comic character. He and his friends will be faced with some very real life circumstances and will learn how to deal with them in a safe and appropriate manner. The site will also include a national database of faith-based agencies that provide help to hurting kids. Finally, there will be a moderated forum where kids can anonymously talk about real-life situations and get guidance from trained Christian counselors on how to best deal with their circumstances.
The vision of this special ministry program is designed to bring a safe and uplifting message of hope to kids that may be dealing with forms of abuse, addictions, and/or thoughts of suicide. The ministry is in the infancy stage and a formal non-profit corporation has not yet been established.
We believe:
* the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
* that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
* in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death, through His shed blood on the cross; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.
* for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.
* in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.
* in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are eternally lost from the presence of God.
* it is important to uphold the Scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism and the regular taking of communion. We do not believe that either of these practices is essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
