Hospice of West Tennessee
We are a coordinated program of palliative and supportive services providing a continuum of home and inpatient care for the terminally ill person and his family. The emphasis is on home care, with backup inpatient services when home care is not feasible. We employ a medically directed interdisciplinary team of professional and volunteers acting under the direction of an autonomous hospice administration. We provide symptomatic and supportive care to meet the special needs rising out of the physical, emotional, spiritual, social and economic stresses that are experienced during the final stage of illness, death and bereavement. We provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and this care is provided on the basis of need regardless of the ability to pay.
The mission of Hospice of West Tennessee is to assist in preserving and or enhancing the quality of life of the terminally ill persons and their families in the West Tennessee area who meet the admission criteria, by trained staff and volunteers through the provision of physical, emotional, spiritual, social, financial, legal counseling, and care appropriate, from the time of admission through the bereavement period.
