Mission Statement:

IICD Michigan prepares participants for community development work to fight against poverty. The preparations and the outreach start in the US, and continue at projects in Africa and Latin America. The training includes being part of a team and an international community, where participants come from many countries. US citizens and Canadians are well represented, and there are participants from Latin America, Europe, and different Asian countries. This contributes to a mutual global understanding, and the international visitors and the North Americans get many opportunities to learn about, as well as assist in various US communities using education as the first step in fighting poverty, shoulder to shoulder with the poor.
