India 4 Christ
India 4 Christ was started in the Andhra Pradesh state of India in 2008. It grew out of the "Reaching the Unreached Ministry", which has been active in India, Nepal, and Pakistan since 1999. India 4 Christ began with the opening of a "human resource development center" in a paper mill colony of an industrial area in Kurnool. When the paper mill shut down, hundreds of families were left without jobs. Many people died from starvation; illegal behavior spread; and alcoholism became wide-spread among both the women and the men.
Human Resource Centre The human resource center (HRC) was dedicated to the glory of God, with the aim being to bring people to Christ and give hope to these families by providing them with food; Christian training; and with a Christ-based way to overcome their addiction to alcohol. The HRC is self-supporting and has benefited nearly 1,500 people who have been severely affected by closing of the paper mill. Bible teaching and Christian prayers are conducted daily for anyone who wishes to attend. An on-going seamstress training program is conducted and 23 young women have graduated. This training is at no cost to them and provides a way to escape a life of prostitution and to obtain gainful employment in nearby clothing manufacturing factories. HRC is managed by a Hindu couple who have received the Savior and the husband gave up his alcohol addiction. Regular meetings are conducted on the effects of alcohol addiction. Small group leaders have been trained on the Most Excellent Way Ministry, an alcohol-recovery ministry based of the Biblical teachings of Jesus Christ. There are now 15 small-group leaders, one in each of 15 remote villages, where they are teaching the Most Excellent Way. Six thousand people in remote villages have been reached with the Most Excellent Way Ministry. Many have come to Christ as a result.
New Life in Christ Church in Chintakunta In April, 2008, the cornerstone of the New Life in Christ Church was laid. On Palm Sunday 2010, the church was dedicated for the glory of God and for the spiritual benefit of the village. This work continues by the grace of God as you can see from pictures on this website. Seamstress training is conducted for the girls of Chintakunta. Two cricket teams are sponsored by the New Life in Christ church. Regular services are conducted, as well as Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. A water well has been provided by India 4 Christ, and the entire village is welcome to use it at no cost. Plans are underway to set up a medical facility for the village, as God provides.
Other India activities We are adding pages to this website on a regular basis in service of our supporters who are an important part of all that God is doing at India 4 Christ. Please take a look around the website and check back often for updates on India4Christ activities.
Nepal Pastor John has visited Nepal two times, where India4Christ supports three literacy training classes for women. The reading material includes Bible verses, and some of the time is spent in prayer and singing Christian songs. The training is for a one-year period. Upon graduation, the ladies return to villages, where often they are the only person who can read. They take the good news of Jesus Christ with them to these Hindu villages. The effects of this training will be long-lasting.
Pakistan Due to the political unrest and danger, there have been no visits to Pakistan. One pastor and his family in Lahore, Pakistan, are provided with a very small donation occasionally. Pastor Yaqoob speaks to us here in California via Skype on a regular basis. The Most Excellent Way ministry provided Yaqoob with funds for a motorcycle after his was destroyed by militants.
India 4 Christ is a registered 501c3 non-profit ministry with the goal and objective of sharing the good news and love of Jesus Christ in India, Nepal, and Pakistan. All ministry activities are supported by donations, and go directly to India, Nepal, or Pakistan for Christian leadership training and various social outreach programs such as medical care for orphans, alcohol rehabilitation, literacy training, Church support and occupational training for women. Statement of Beliefs
India 4 Christ has been formed as a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational organization, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only to their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
•We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's
Agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess and
without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
•We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we
remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to
direct our worship.
•We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we
give great place to music in our worship.
•We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our
services are designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of
the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be
worshipped.
•We believe worship of God should be fruitful. Therefore, we look
for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we
have truly been worshipping Him.
•We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and
New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God.
•We believe that God is eternally existent in three distinct persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
•We believe that God is the personal, transcendent, and sovereign
Creator of all things.
