Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services

Organization Description: 

RIS ‚— Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services is a program of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut and is the local affiliate of Episcopal Migration Ministries and the Immigration and Refugee Program of Church World Service.

IRIS resettles approximately 100 refugees each year. IRIS also provides some services to asylees and other immigrants. Currently, over half of IRIS‚’s refugee clients come from Iraq. Others come from Afghanistan, Congo, Cuba, Ethiopia, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, and other countries.

IRIS is funded by the US Departments of State and Health and Human Services (Office of Refugee Resettlement), Episcopal Migration Ministries, Church World Service, CT Department of Social Services, CT Department of Education, United Way of Greater New Haven, Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, Casey Family Services & the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Carolyn Foundation, Bissell Foundation, Empower New Haven, New Haven Community Development Block Grant, Stratton Faxon, churches, synagogues, organizations and businesses around the state, and individual contributions.
