Journey Out
Journey Out is a not-for-profit organization that provides prostitution diversion services, emergency rescue and referral services, peer mentorship, AIDS/STI testing, GED preparedness courses to victims of sex trafficking. We also maintain a Drop-In center where they have access to food, clothes, and hygiene products. We also engage in direct street outreach.
Journey Out is a not-for-profit organization and our mission is to help victims of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking leave a life of abuse and violence, overcome their fears, and empower them to reach their full potential and achieve their goals; and we have successfully carried out this mission for 36 years
Journey Out (formerly The Mary Magdalene Project) was created by a grant from the Presbyterian Women of America (PWA) in June 1980 at the prompting of West Hollywood Presbyterian Reverend Ross Greek. The Sunset Boulevard location put him in contact with prostituted women working the streets right outside his church.
