•To help establish community based services which work towards the best available practices by supporting and collaborating with all interested parties.
•To provide community-based support and services for disabled children and their families, instead of segregating and isolating those whose families have difficulty taking care of them.
•To prevent the institutionalization of disabled children by working with their families and professional decision makers.
•To promote early intervention and inclusion.
•To promote an increase in the number of skilled professionals working with disabled people.
