Kerygma Texas

Organization Description:

Kerygma Texas is a full time Lay Ministry to the Catholic Church of East Texas. We are located in the Diocese of Tyler, under the blessing of Bishop Alvaro Corrada.

Our desire is to evangelize the Catholic baptized to come to a heart conversion and true relationship with Jesus Christ. This lay missions adventure is part of Kerygma International, the Catholic based branch of the inter-confessional lay missions organization Youth With a Mission (YWAM). Through this we want to develop and encourage activities that draw Catholics to experience the Holy Spirit in their lives.

As part of YWAM we have some full time Lay Missionary staff and a lot of volunteers. The directors and founders of Kerygma Texas are Alan and Lori Harris, full time staff representatives of Kerygma International. This Kerygma work in Texas began in October 2008.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
