KGM Statement of Faith
The Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and contains every answer to man's problems.
2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21
God
There is one God who reveals Himself as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God is Love and He loves all people. He is the creator of all. He is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent.
Ephesians 4:5; John 10:30; John 14:26; I Timothy 3:16; I Peter 1:2; I John 4:8
Mankind
Man is created in the image of God. Because of sin is a fallen being, separated from God.
Genesis 1:26; 1 Timothy 2:5
Salvation
Jesus said ?I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me? (John 14:6). Therefore we believe that the only way to heaven is by repentance and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Salvation is God?s free gift to man. It is not a result of what we do, but it is only available through God's unearned favor. we can spend eternity with God.
Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 3:24; John 3:3
Baptism
We believe in water baptism, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus, as the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Acts 2:37,38; Acts 4:12; Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4: Colossians 3:17
Holy Spirit
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. He helps empower the believer to develop the character of Christ and live every day in God's will. We believe that we are to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His leading.
Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; John 16:13
Spiritual Gifts
God gives all believers spiritual gifts. They are for the strengthening of God's people (the Church) and proof of God's existence and power to unbelievers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and relevant today.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Peter 4:10
Sanctification
Sanctification is the state of separation unto God; all believers enter into this state when they are born again as new creatures in Christ: To ?sanctify? something is to set it apart for special use. To ?sanctify? a person is to make him holy.
I Corinthians 6:11; Romans 6: 1-23
Divine healing
Divine Healing is available for anyone who is willing to believe and receive. God is a Healer and has granted believers the authority to heal the sick and cast out demons. Healing includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual restoration.
Matthew 10:1; Luke 9:11; Acts 10:38; Matthew 9:35
Heaven and Hell
Jesus said in my Father?s house are many mansions, I go there to prepare a place for you. Heaven is the place where God and all the angels dwell. It is where those who have been born again and followed Jesus will spend eternity.
The Bible describes hell as a real place. It is a place of suffering and a place of permanent separation from God for those who die without accepting Christ. God's desire is that no one be separated from Him for eternity, which is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth.
Revelations 22:1-5; John 14:2; Matthew 18:10; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:12-15
The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ
Jesus will return and take all those who have accepted Him as Savior to be with Him for eternity.
Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Hebrews 9:28
Marriage
Marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only within the confines of marriage. Marriage is a covenant between one man, one woman, and God.
Genesis 1:27; Romans 1:26-27; I Thessalonians 4:3-4; Ephesians 5:22-33
Communion
We believe that in the taking of Communion, we remember incomparable the love of God that was extended towards in Christ?s death, burial and resurrection
Matthew 26:26-28; I Corinthians 11:26
The Church
The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven
Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:33
Giving
We believe the Bible teaches that we are to support churches and ministries financially. Tithing is God?s command for His people to give to His work through local congregations. Offerings are financial gifts above and beyond the tithe.
Luke 6:38; Proverbs 3:9; I Corinthians 9:11: John 3:16
