King's Harvest Ministries

Organization Description:

Thank you for this opportunity to tell you about the ministry of King's Harvest. King's Harvest is located at 824 W. 3rd St, Davenport, Iowa, on the corner of 3rd street and Warren. Since it's beginning in 1996, the goal of this ministry has been to provide assistance to the poor, the homeless and the shut-ins living in the Quad Cities. We continually work to achieve this goal through many different methods of ministry.

One of our ministries is to provide groceries every 2nd and 4th Saturday. At each giveaway, we hand out approximately 175 bags of groceries.

We serve hot lunches on Wednesday and Friday and hot breakfast on Saturday and usually serve 200-250 people at our downtown Davenport building.

We make visit to individuals in the local jail and hospitals to encourage them during their difficult times and offer them our support.

We also provide a clothing ministry which provides those in need clothing and need household items.

We also offer a pet assistance program to help the poor/homeless care for their pets. This includes a spay/neuter program, pet food giveaways, and temporary housing of animals when owner wants to enter a shelter or is in need of hospitalization or just needs time to get back on their feet.

We also provide sleeping rooms for recovering addicts and alcoholics and apartments to those is need.

We also offer assistance to those looking for work or housing by providing transportation and support, anything from apartment hunting, job interviews to grocery shopping.

From December 1 through we provide an sleeping area to accommodate the over-flow from the other shelters.
