Kinship of Greater Minneapolis
Kinship of Greater Minneapolis is a faith-based nonprofit that advocates for children liveing in single parent homes at or near the poverty level. Kinship was founded over 50 years ago at the Luther Seminary and now includes volunteers and children from all denominations. Over 300 children are matched presently and over 150 kids still wait for a caring mentor to enter their lives.
Kinship of Greater Minneapolis helps children ages 5 to 15, in need of additional adult support, to realize their God-given potential through adult friendships. Kinship is unique because it is faith-based and encourages couples and families, as well as individuals, to reach out to a child in need.
Reaching out in faith to the least of our brothers is not a suggestion, but rather a requirement and honest indication of walking with Jesus. Many children suffer in our society. Won't you reach out to a child by offering your friendship and support where it is most needed?
