Lighthouse Hospice
Hospice provides care and supportive services to terminally ill patients and their familes.* Hospice is not a place but a concept of care.* Hospice provides physical, social, spiritual, and emotional care during the last stages of illness, during the dying process, and during bereavement by a medically directed, interdisciplinary team consisting of patients/families, professionals, and volunteers.* Hospice care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.* Hospice provides palliative care which includes physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort care to patients and thier families.
Lighthouse Hospice is dedicated to providing hospice care at a level of excellence that will give new expression to Dr. Cicely Saunders' definition of hospice as "precise attention to detail". *We are dedicated to expert symptom control so patients may discover their own quality of life in the days left to them.* We are dedicated to affirming life and dignity while neither hastening nor postponing death.* We are dedicated to relieving the stress of the patients and families as they struggle with meaningful ways of saying good-bye.* We are didicated to identifying and educating a supportive community that will be sensitive to the needs of the dying patient and his/her loved ones.* We are dedicated to offering palliative care to all terminally ill patients and support to those patients and their families without regard for diagnosis, gender, sexual orientation, race, creed, disability, age, place of residence, or ability to pay.* We are dedicated to honoring and respecting the core values and wishes of the patients and families we serve.
