Organization Description: 

MACAO is a humanitarian non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the Arusha region of Northern Tanzania. The MACAO Head Office is in Arusha and was established in 2003. Since then MACAO has been working in partnership with the local community, district and national governments, and other local and international institutions to improve the lives of indigenous pastoral Maasai communities in the Arusha Region.

Our mission is to provide opportunities to people to enjoy their lives through effective care and education regarding HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other widespread diseases, and to ensure that all orphans and underprivileged children in the community are able to complete primary and secondary school education.

Our faith in Jesus is central to whom we are, and we follow His example in working alongside the poor and oppressed. We serve every child in need that we possibly can, of any faith, or none. We partner with churches throughout the world, equipping them to meet the needs of our communities.
