Focus Areas for Marigold Projects
Social Service:
Help reestablish home and village life, whether rebuilding a footbridge, digging a well, supporting a local women's agency, or helping fatherless or orphaned families with household goods and materials.
Health/Medical:
Join in the rebuilding of the Afghan health system, supporting medical professional development, especially in maternal and child health. Marigold also arranges for and subsidizes medical treatment for individuals suffering from a range of diseases and injuries.
Education:
Support programs that promote girls' and boys' education, the support of female teachers, and special education programs. Marigold also provides schools with books, floor coverings, supplies and teaching materials.
The mission of Marigold Fund is to help Afghans rebuild their country, and to establish substantial friendship and understanding between Afghans and Westerners.
First Things: Who is my neighbor? Underlying all that we do, both the means and the ends, are teachings such as 'blessed are the peacemakers' and the parable of the Good Samaritan; and the calls to do justice, love mercy, care for widows and orphans, and to walk humbly with God.
