The Master's Apprentice

Organization Description: 

Description The Master?s Apprentice is a new faith based social enterprise created to connect industries in need of qualified apprentices, foundations working to reduce dependence on social programs and young men searching for an opportunity to succeed. The Master?s Apprentice is unique in providing the bridge over the opportunity divide between the young men rooted in low income mindsets and the growing need for apprentices in the skilled trades that will provide a sustainable future for them and economic growth for our country. The program will be a competency based educational program that will teach young men from low income neighborhoods the basic skills and knowledge needed to meet the minimum standards of acceptance by employers. These will include the soft skills of the workplace, construction math, personal finance, cultural awareness and resume/interview skills. The young men will also have practical on the job experience as pre-apprentices building and producing simple projects in our workshop lab.
