Metropolitan Community Services
T.O.U.C.H. operates under the non- profit umbrella of Metropolitan Community Services (MCS). Incorporated on February 21, 1984, MCS provided temporary residential services to male and female homeless individuals, of which included the ex-offender population. MCS served hundreds of individuals with temporary housing and the needed guidance towards establishing stable housing.MCS's renewed focus now addresses and provides recently released offender reentry services, i.e. T.O.U.C.H., Teaching Opportunity Unity by Connecting Hearts. On July 1, 2008, T.O.U.C.H. launched its pilot released offenders mentoring program.
Metropolitan Community Services/T.O.U.C.H, as a post and pre release program, establishes a well developed connection between the recently incarcerated and his/her community-paving a path for responsible men, women, and young adults, to travel upon during their journey towards successful reintergration into society.
