Since our initial opening in 1991, we have collaborated with Baltimore County Social Services; Baltimore County Office of Community Conservation, mental health agencies (i.e., Prologue Inc., Alliance), substance abuse programs (i.e., Youth Challenge, Teen Challenge, Schumacher House, and Balto. Co. Substance Abuse, Partners in Recovery), area churches, hospitals (i.e., Franklin Square, Sheppard Pratt, Spring Grove, Mercy), the Veteran?s Administration, the prison systems, local churches, and other non-profits in assisting over 6,000 homeless men with:
? Transportation To Supportive Services.
? Basic Life Skills Training.
? Education Opportunities.
? Housing (Emergency Or Transitional).
? Daily Meals.
? Clothing And Laundry Services.
? Counseling & Medical Support.
? Substance Abuse Treatment - Outpatient Referrals.
? Live In Advocate Opportunities For Graduates Of Our Phase III Program.
? Employment Opportunities For Residents Through Various Companies.
We offer all of these services and more through our various program phases.
Nehemiah House, Inc., mission is to provide temporary shelter, training, counseling and other assistance for the emotional, physical and total rehabilitation of homeless men who are released from prison, victims of substance abuse or the ill-effects of society in general, without limitation as to race, color or creed, in order to prepare them to become responsible and useful members of the community and society.
We operate a year round adult men?s homeless program and house in Baltimore County. We are located at 8720 Philadelphia Road in Rosedale. Our facility houses up to 49 men who are facing various issues in life which have brought them to a place of homelessness.
Our desire and focus it to work with willing homeless men who want to break the cycle of homelessness in their life.
