Neighbor to Neighbor
Neighbor to Neighbor works with youth and families in SouthEast Raleigh through several different programs: Help One Student To Succeed (HOSTS) is a national education system that we run afer school for over 100 youth in the area. MADHouse Basketball is a free league for the community which seeks to teach youth character and morals using basketball and recreation as a tool. Raleigh Urban YoungLife, affiliated with YoungLife international, teaches spiritual and moral truth to around 100 youth in the area. Last, our Upward Scholarship program provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors to provide them a means to go to college.
We are called to cultivate life-changing relationships resulting in communities of hope, justice, and compassion.
We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is a holistic gospel. Christians are called not only to tell others the love of Christ, but also to show that love through service. We believe that God's love is best captured in the word "compassion". Through God's compassion he sent Christ to this earth to become flesh and walk through our struggles alongside us. We believe God calls us to a Christ-like life, to walk through suffering and hardships with the "least of these" and to suffer with them. We believe that friendship and trust must be earned. Through spending time with people you earn the right to speak to people about Christ in the midst of their suffering.
