The New Lynwood Worship Center

Organization Description:

The New Lynwood Worship Center has been in this community since 1964, but in the 1970's it closed its doors due to reasons that have yet to be clarified. It stayed closed until 1993 when the Assemblies of God re-opened it as a home for Restoration and new beginnings. During the time that it was closed it became a refuge for junkies, gangs, and prostitution. This turn around in the 1990's brought a new hope to the surrounding communities as they watched the destruction that had grown comfortable slowly diminish. Now, in 2010, the Lynwood Woership Center has become a house of prayer and as I stated a home for addicts to restore their lives. It also is a place for the neighborhood chjildren to find refuge as it offers after school programs and a place for single mothers to get off of their feet.
