Nyabirong Integrated Women Association
Nyabirongo Integrated Women Association (NIWA) was founded by women in Nyabirongo village, kisinga Sub/County, kasese District Western party of Uganda (East Africa) This organization was established in the year 2004 as Community based organization CBO. And in the year 2005 it was registered an NGO at the national level of NGOs in Uganda as No. 5517 The organization went through a community needs assessment and found out that majority of the community members are living below the poverty line, had no access to clean water, were illiterate, some community members are living in small grass thatched houses, having unbalanced diet, many children were not able to go to school, domestic violence in homes, high orphanage rate due to HIV/AIDS Scourge. It is upon to this background that NIWA in Uganda has done great work to improve communities to have access to clean water for their health. This is done with support from development partner The American Embassy PEPFAR Net work 2014/2015 Community Grants. What we do The organization is doing multi-purpose projects like: 1. Savings and credit scheme (SACCO) 2. Agriculture 3. Animal husbandry 4. Pond fish farming 5. Community outreach programs to sensitizing communities to fight HIV/AIDS to zero HIV related death, zero discrimination, HIV/AIDS mitigation measures, family planning and hygiene. 6. Water extension to communities.

Vision End poverty, hunger and HIV/AIDS in all its forms in homes. Mission Creating income generating projects that promote womens economic empowerment and work to eliminate violence against women and girls. When women are empowered, families and communities benefit too. Objectives i. To improve social economic status of community members ii. To have women business centre available and women access to opportunities iii. To improve livelihoods of children, OVCs and contribute to food security. iv. To network with other individuals, companies, NGOs, CBOs and Government in areas of common interest at local and international levels.
