Description
Christian organization helping refugees (new arrivals to St. Louis from worn-torn countries) with furniture and household items for their new homes. We receive donated furniture and household items and then deliver them to new refugee families. Also helping with English Second Language and learning about American customs. Marriage Seminars, Parenting Seminars, Post-Tramatic Seminars provided to help with new families.
We also help people who have been homeless, when they receive their apartment or house, with furntiure and household items.
Here are some things we are doing at Oasis.
1. Receiving (in good condition) furniture, household items, appliances (washers & dryers, refrigerators, stoves) We will pick up items with our truck. A fuel donation is appreciated
2. Furniture and houdhold items delivered directly to refugee families (Sometimes the same day we receive them from the donor)
3. Provide clothes for refugees
4. Provide English, Computer, Citzenship, and Drivers Training Classes
5. Provide job search and help with online applications
6. Provide a once a month outreach to the community of Bevo Mill with free food, bicycles and flea market.
7. Provide assistance with medical, financial, legal, utilities questions
8. Provide tutoring for refugee children ages 5-12
9. Provide assistance with immigration documents.
10. Provide assistance with finding better housing.
