Oasis International Placements

Organization Description:

You don’t have to look very far in this world to see the injustice that surrounds us – there’s a lot of people living difficult lives in even more difficult situations.

Here at Oasis, we don't think that's the way it should be so we’re doing all we can to confront this injustice in practical ways – from pioneering secondary schools in the UK to helping women trapped in prostitution in India - and everything in between!

In fact, Oasis has been pioneering life-transforming housing, healthcare, education and youth work initiatives across the globe for over twenty years.

We want to see a just and inclusive world, in which everyone (and we mean everyone) has equal opportunity to reach his or her potential. We're motivated by our Christian faith to serve people and transform communities by promoting inclusion and confronting injustice.

We know that this could sound like a bit of a pipe dream – changing the world, promoting inclusion, confronting injustice - but what does it actually mean?

The best way to find out is by taking a look at examples of What we're doing in the UK and What we're doing around the world.
You can find Oasis working hard in eleven countries across five continents, with some of the world’s poorest and most marginalised communities.

As human beings, we know that our needs go way beyond food and shelter. That's why in all that we do, we believe in meeting a person's complete needs - that is socially, spiritually, emotionally, educationally, physically and environmentally – helping them to live life to its fullest.

We work with local churches to deliver health care, educational support, women's empowerment, skills training, and help for people affected by HIV/AIDS, prostitution, and human trafficking.

We offer the opportunity for people like yourself to volunteer with us in 10 countries around the world. We offer three volunteering programmes including Global Action Teams, Short Term Teams, and longer-term Professional Placements opportunities.
