Odyssey Healthcare in Birmingham

Organization Description: 

Odyssey HealthCare is offering volunteer opportunities for Birmingham and surrounding residents. A patient/family support volunteer works directly with terminally ill patients and their families. Tasks can include visiting, reading, writing letters, listening, shopping, household chores, allowing the caregiver some much needed down-time, or undertaking other caring acts. Office and special project volunteer opportunities also exist.

We offer training and support at no charge. You must go through orientation, which will help you become a more effective volunteer. Volunteer assignments are geared to your schedule and what you wish to offer. Someone in your neighborhood could benefit from your efforts.
