Organization Description: 

Open Gate Foundation was established as a Christian, voluntary charity, non-profit, and non partisan organization to spread development consciousness in order to fight poverty and empower communities to be self-reliant. The Foundation is devoted in, reducing poverty and supporting social-economic grassroots initiatives,

Education, Discipleship, and Evangelism. The Foundation focus on Four categories:

1) Community Development and Compassion work.

2) Education, and Leadership.

3) Social justice and peace initiatives.

4) Church Empowerment initiatives.

We are working directly with the individuals, Community organizations, churches/ministries, and to-date Open Gate Foundation is involved in awareness creation to promote girls' advancement and advancing girls' access to education. Foundation also working closely with women groups, Hiv/Aids victims, churches, schools and community associations. O.G.F strongly believes in strategies that introduce new ideas and services with methods of empowering the powerless.

The Foundation strategy includes: home visits, sensitizing parents, teachers and guardians on the rights of children and their holistic development, youth and women and encouraging rural girls to go to school, advocacy, technical training skills, counseling girls at risk, Youth Career Development programs through training in work skills for young women as a spring board to jobs and further education and Reproductive health programs for adolescents, helping to boost girl enrollment in schools and institutions, primary healthcare, skills development, home management, promotion of legal rights for women through sensitization and seeking assistance for victims, assisting widows and counseling services to families in difficult circumstances, networking and income generating activities etc.

The Foundation being a Interdenominational Christian Organization work with local church partners and fellowships representing different denominations in establishing local/National Missions: Coordination of local outreaches programs which include jail, hospital, door to door, street and school ministries, visitation, follow up of new converts, and specialized ministries such as ministries to drug addicts, unwed mothers, alcoholics, etc. Investigates and recommends projects worthy of support.
