The Need Daily, in America, there are 1000 unwed teenagers who become mothers; 1106 teenage girls have abortions; 4219 teens are infected with sexually transmitted diseases; 500 adolescents begin using drugs; 1000 adolescents begin to abuse alcohol; 135 teen bring guns or other violent weapons to school; 3610 teens are assaulted; 80 teens are raped; 2200 teens drop out of high school; and 6 teens commit suicide. In a recent survey, more than 80 percent of teenagers believed adults would characterize them as “lazy”, “rude”, “sloppy”, “dishonest”, and “violent”. However, in that same study, those same teenagers overwhelmingly (more than 80 percent) desire a college degree, a comfortable lifestyle, one marriage partner for life and clear purpose for living.
OutchaMind Overview OutchaMind (OM) is non-profit 501 (c)3 organization focusing on coaching, inspiring and empowering youth (ages 14-21) through special events and programs designed to help youth develop positive mindsets. Programs encourage high performance and spiritual awareness while teaching students to identify and correct poor habits to improve chances of success. By providing an atmosphere that provokes thought and creativity, OM ultimately achieves its goal of changing lives through changing minds.
Services Provided OM offers services that are responsive to the needs of youth and families in local communities and counties. We provide Life Skills Training, Employment Readiness Training, Leadership Development, Financial Literacy, Family Engagement Programs and Motivational Conferences.
