Outside The Walls/ Wilmington Leadership Foundation
Outside The Walls is a faith based orginazation of the Wilmington Leadership Foundation funded by the Amachi Coalition Project.
In late 2009, Public/Private Ventures in partnership with Dare Mighty Things, launched the Amachi Coalition Project, which was awarded $17.8 million in Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention funding to provide financial resources, training, and technical assistance to mentoring organizations in 38 states. Over the 3-year grant period, these programs will create thousands of new mentoring matches for children impacted by incarceration. WLF is a sub-award recipient representing North Carolina in this coalition, which the initial first year goal of creating at least 56 new mentoring matches by June 30, 2010
Our mission is to bring about change in the Wilmington area by recruiting mentors for at-risk youth and children affected by incarceration, one child at a time.
