Pais Canada

Organization Description:

Here is how a Pais team typically functions:

:: A Pais team consists of between 3-6 apprentices, who may come from several different nations around the world!

:: Each apprentice works with a partnered church. Sometimes there will be multiple apprentices working with one church. Apprentices will work within the student ministry of their partnered church, assisting the youth pastor in running the weekly program.

:: Within the church environment, apprentices aim to challenge and equip students to become missionaries within their schools.

:: The apprentices also meet together each day as a team and spend their time creating and performing ministry in the local schools.

:: The ministry can take the form of lessons, lunch clubs, assemblies/chapels, workshops, mentoring sessions, coaching or anything that allows us to serve the needs of the schools that partner with us.

:: The Pais Project was established to connect un-churched students with a local church in their area. Since the apprentices work in both environments, they become familiar faces that so many first-time visitors to church don't have, allowing them to easily settle in and feel welcomed.

:: Through continued interaction and involvement in the different worlds of the students they work with, Pais apprentices become a positive influence and a strong role-model.

Mission Statement:

We are passionate about the young people of our world and are desperate to see people in the relationship with God that he intended us to have. We work with schools and churches to help bridge the gap between them and help young people find their purpose as they grow in their understanding and experience of God.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

Our passion? Our history? Our vision? Our success? All summed up by one word ƒƒ ¢€š ƒ‚ ¢€¦ partnership. We believe in young people. We believe in the church. We believe in community impact. And it all comes through partnership!

Across Canada, murmurings of change are being whispered. Churches from the Pacific to the Atlantic are realising the serious need for connecting with their communities. One people group in particular seems especially hard to engage: youth! PAIS is partnering with churches, schools, and young people to create change.

Goals

# We want to plant hubs in every major urban centre in Canada by 2012.
# We particularly want to train young Canadian adults to minister in their own nation!
