Prayer Warriors Enhancement Team

Organization Description:

The PWEC is currently the only organization offering these supportive services to the homeless population of Moreno Valley. Moreno Valley presently has no emergency shelters or transitional housing and very few affordable housing units, which means that those that are homeless, in transition, or low-income must rely on the services in Riverside. The PWEC is also currently the only agency in Moreno Valley that provides motel vouchers, which is necessary because of the lack of emergency shelters in our community. Motel vouchers provide overflow emergency beds and serves as an extension of the Continuum of Care, and are used in conjunction with collaborations with local services to house clients until shelter beds are available. The PWEC was created in order to provide services that specifically address the needs of our community.

The goal of the center is to move men and women from homelessness to self-sufficiency. The center often commonly provides services to men and women dealing with dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse. Staff provides support moving toward economic self-sufficiency, job placement, and permanent housing. The center provides supportive services while these men and women stabilize and acquire the skills needed for independent living.
