Project FIAT International
Organization Description:
In 2004 the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus opened up a volunteer house in San Salvador, El Salvador. The poverty and frequent natural disasters that plagued El Salvador prompted the sisters to initiate Project FIAT International.
During Project FIAT International, participants leave the comfort, efficiency, and competitiveness of their culture, to enter to some extent into the values, experiences, and limiting circumstances with which billions of the worlds people live.
