Project SERVE
Project SERVE (Service and Education through Residential Volunteer Experience) is a year-long service learning opportunity located in Baltimore, MD. Our volunteers live in community and work at a variety of Catholic Charities programs throughout the city. We have positions working with the homeless, recent immigrants, at-risk children, foster care families, and senior citizens among others.
In exchange for their service, we provide our members with rent and utility-free housing, health insurance, a monthly stipend for living expenses and an AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion of the program.
Project SERVE seeks to provide recent college graduates with the oppertunity to obtain practical, meaningful work experience while serving marginalized populations and working for social justice
We are a program of Catholic Charities of Baltimore, and as such we invite our volunteers to live the agency's mission: to provide healing and care to those in need; to educate people to social awareness and motivate them to act; and to advocate for public policy that ensures a just society. Since we are an AmeriCorps sponsored program, we do not mandate any expectations for community prayer. Rather, we invite our volunteers to develop and explore their spirituality within the community to their own comfort level.
