After School Tutoring
Adventures Ahead provides after-school literacy development and homework assistance to children K-6. Our goal is for each child to achieve grade-appropriate literacy and find enjoyment of reading as a lifelong venture.
Youth Outreach
We provide Christian mentoring and weekly Bible study for neighborhood youth. Our goals are to nurture faith and godly character; to develop leadership for service in the local church, community, and beyond.
Streetlamp Studio
Streetlamp provides mentoring opportunities to local youth with professional actors, musicians and artists. Youth work with mentors to create and perform original, highquality productions that explore facets of hope in the context of difficult life and inner-city realities.
Community Building
Neighboring plays a critical role in re-weaving the frayed social fabric of urban communities, developing leadership capacity and holistically transforming a community. Neighbors have worked together to form Neighborhood Watch groups, close nuisance liquor stores, gate alleys, plant trees, paint murals and host Harvest Carnivals.
Internships and Short-Term Service Projects
Our neighborhood hungers for loving investment in children and youth. RCP works hard to create challenging learning experiences for interns and short-term volunteers who come here to serve. RCP hosts numerous groups each year who serve our community through work projects, tutoring, and leading after-school enrichment activities.
