River of Life

Organization Description:

River of Life is a small, intimate, rural children's camping ministry located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont. We can accomodate 64 campers a week. We offer horse back riding, riflery, archery, paintball, crafts, mountain boards, and swimming.

Our goal is to reach a significant segment of the local population in an area that is largely unchurched, unsaved and financially challenged. Because our goal is to reach out to those who are financially challenged we do three four things. We 1) keep our cost to $225.00 a week ($100.00 below the bottom end of the national average), 2) actively seek donors to provide scholarships and 3) fill the majority of our staff positions (counselors, kitchen help, nurses etc) with volunteers and 4) we actively partner with local churches to find and finance the camping experience of unsave/unchurched children. We also partner with NEKKA one of our area social agencies.

Camp runs from June 22nd to August 8th. For those who plan to come for the entire summer there is a training week the week of June 15th.

Mission Statement:

River of Life exists to help the unsaved/unchurched children of New England experience the saving love of Jesus Christ.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

River of Life Statement of Faith

1.We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally inspired of God and they are without error in the original writings, and they are the supreme and final authority for faith, life and conduct.

2.We believe in one God. Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3.We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, His death to pay the penalty for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation at God’s right hand, and His personal, imminent return.

4.We believe that all men have sinned and are therefore guilty before God and are under His condemnation.

5.We believe that all who by faith receive Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, therefore children of God and eternally saved, and that the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer to enlighten, guide and enable him in life, testimony and service.

6.We believe that God gives spiritual gifts to all believers for the building up of the body of Christ. However, we believe that some gifts of the Spirit such as tongues and healings were evidently limited to the early church. We believe that God answers the prayers of His people and meets their needs according to His purpose.

7.We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in Glory and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in hell.

8.We believe all believers are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices and alliances.
