Rostro de Cristo
The Rostro de Cristo program brings together the people of Ecuador and the United States in order to: foster mutual evangelization in the Catholic tradition through a shared discovery of faith; transform the world based on the Gospel by promoting understanding, justice and appropriate development; and inspire life-long commitments to service, social justice and solidarity in the global community.
A total of 12 volunteers live in community and work in educational and social service programs in Ecuador. The Rostro de Cristo program is affiliated with St. James Society of the Archdiocese of Boston, and also in Ecuador with a Catholic foundation called Nuevo Mundo. In addition, Rostro de Cristo hosts short-term retreat experiences for various high schools and colleges across the United States. Each volunteer will lead at least one of these retreat groups through their immersion experience. If you are looking to live in a Christian community while serving with the poor, Rostro de Cristo is the program for you.
