Salvation Army of Collier County
The Naples Corps serves Collier County and helps those in need with Emergency Social Services where we assist individuals and families with food, utility bills, rent, medication and transportation.
At our Center on Estey Avenue we run a Day Care Center for working parents and single parents of whom 80% are living pay check to pay check. The Corps subsidizes those families who cannot afford to pay the full rate for care. There are 80 children in the Day Care and we also have another 45 children in our after school program. In addition at the Center we run senior programs twice a month. The center is also our place of worship on Sunday and for Sunday school programs. In December 2007 we completed our Chapel on the Campus. We plan to expand our day care by an additional 21 children when funds become available.
In April 08 the Corps opened a service unit in Immokalee to better serve the residents of that community. Initially it will provide emergency social services, but in time will expand.
The Corps responds to all disasters that occur in Collier County and also supports other, out of County agencies, when disasters occur.
The Corps’ Christmas Program supports children and families in need over the holidays and last year over $250,000 was raised through Kettles, all of which will support Emergency social services which, on average, support over 9,000 individuals and families per year.
