Second Chance Mentoring
The Second Chance Mentoring Program matches volunteer women from the community with moms in our rehabilitation facility who want to break the cycle of addiction for themselves and their children. Through the mentoring relationship, mentees learn from others experience, grow in their faith, and have more opportunity for a successful future. We are a grant from The Second Chance Mentoring Act, designed to reduce recidivism for people leaving incarceration. We are a Volunteers of America Texas program.
The Second Chance Mentoring Program provides consistent and caring mentors to guide, support and inspire re-entry mentees to develop the faith, attitudes and skills that will help them to become successful as parents, in their personal lives, with family and as members of their community.
We would like to see Mentors enhance the dignity of Mentees by encouraging them to make choices that will enable them to be successful, and by using the power of God to change their lives both on the inside and on the outside.
