We believe in the necessity of shelter and safe living conditions for all persons. Our goal is to address this fundamental need of citizens of our community and improve the quality of life of adult homeless women. We believe in the equality of all, cherishing diversity, and treating each person we meet?client, volunteer, donor, staff?with the same respect, dignity, and care.
The Sophia Way actively respects diversity in all regards. Supporting and encouraging both individuality and personal growth.Empowers women to achieve personal objectives on their journey through life. Guides women with compassionate authority. Invites participation within the entire community.
The Sophia Way measures success by the following outcomes: *Provide services for clients that aid them along their journey *Help individuals attain self-sufficiency through continued case management, life skills, companioning, financial coaching and wealth building. *Build a sustainable program *Keep shelter continuously full *Move women to housing as quickly as possible *Actively seek new housing resources
The mission of The Sophia Way is to help end homelessness for single adult women in East King County, by providing shelter, life skills training, social services and supportive permanent housing, offering a pathway from homelessness to a home of their own. Currently, we are the only staffed overnight shelter for single adult women on the Eastside.
