Organization Description:
Established in November 2005, we provide comprehensive services to homeless ex-offenders in Texas. When an offender is released from prison, he is give a set of clothes and $50. Between November 2005 and January 2009, Spirit Key operated out of a one-room office. In February 2009, we leased 4.9 acres of property with an option to buy. The property houses 9 buildings, many of which need repair or renovations to become fully functional. We are a 24/7 facility that houses male ex-offenders providing housing, food, clothing, and educational training to find a job and become a contributing member to society. In addition, we provide mentoring, counseling, and educational training to male and female ex-offenders on a non-resident basis.
