Stewards in Action Group

Organization Description:

Stewards in Action Group is a voluntary movement of young Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, committed to serving Jesus throughout the world. Stewards in Action Group (SiAG) began in 2006 when a Zimbabwean university student named Peter Bare was inspired by working with youth during his attachment at a church based organisation. During his placement he realized that young people in Zimbabwe has a lot of potential to transform the community despite them not given the opportunity to do so. Pathetic is that this potential is being worsted by the HIV scourge which is not sparing them. One day during a Sunday he was inspired by 1Peter 4 verse 10. To Peter this verse is calling to human kind to do everything within their power to better humanity. This verse made him restless and the urge in his heart grow day by day. Out of this verse a Christian movement named Stewards in Action Group was born. Today, Stewards in Action Group (SiAG) is still young and is growing into a into youth Christian mission movement. Stewards in Action Group (SiAG) focus on youth, but youth-adults partnership are also encouraged. SiAG encourages new vision and the exploration of new ways to change lives through training, convey the message of the gospel and care for those in need. Stewards in Action Group youths love to get together and worship God using our different expressions. They are all committed to growing in the understanding of who Jesus is and how He wants them to love and serve the people of the world. Stewards in Action Group target to cover the whole of Zimbabwe

Stewards in Action Group is very enthusiastic about new ideas. It is moved by people in need, and SiAG do something about it. Stewards in Action Group don’t mind roughing it. We believe that God wants to have a living relationship with every one of us and we want to explore that deeply. Stewards in Action Group have discovered that faith in Jesus will take you to places you never dreamed of, to do things you never imagined, in ways you would never believe

Mission Statement:

The mission of Stewards in Action Group (SiAG) is to harness the potential the youth has in bringing about transformation in the community.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

Stewards in Action Group (SiAG) is a national movement of Evangelical Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God's kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.
We of Stewards in Action Group believe:
• that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's son; that people are created in God's image;
• that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ;
• that although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ;
• that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's initiative of grace towards us;
• that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth;
• And that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment, "...Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).
