Sunset ESL
Sunset ESL is a community-based program with classes and individual opportunities to learn the English language. It addresses the needs of families by providing language classes for adults while their children improve their broader educational skills.
Sunset ESL was established with the vision of reaching out to members of the local community with limited English skills by offering two advantages that many English language programs do not: Saturday classes and childcare. Sunset ESL provides a safe, caring, non-threatening environment for learners and their families who might not otherwise have an opportunity to improve their English. Ultimately, students will meet their immediate needs (job search, adequate housing, school enrollment, transportation, etc.) through developing language skills. Volunteers encourage them to maintain connections to our faith-based community in order to meet their spiritual needs as well.
