Take Stock in Children: Mentoring
. Take Stock in Children is a comprehensive program that helps low-income children stay in school, earn a high school diploma, graduate from college and enter the workforce. Take Stock in Children offers each child:
- A college tuition scholarship
- A volunteer mentor to provide motivation, support & tutoring
- A student advocate/case manager to support the scholar‚?s educational achievements
- College & career counseling including a wide array of Summer programs for both students & their families
Take Stock in Children goes beyond traditional college scholarship incentives by enlisting the cooperation from staff members, mentors, tutors, school personnel, health & human services agencies as well as other local community partnerships to provide each child with the social, emotional, and academic skills to gain self-efficacy, the ability to contribute to the community and overcome poverty.
