Trinity Christian Community
Trinity Christian Community is a 43-year old Christian Community Development ministry that exists to improve the lives of the urban poor in New Orleans through leadership development, capacity building and community transformation.
Our core values include:
We value the city. We are committed to both people and place. We seek the physical, social, and spiritual renewal of both. Our cities can be places of relationship, opportunity, and grace for all.
We value the vulnerable. We seek God's unrelenting concern for the poor, widowed, migrant, sick, prisoner, homeless, and oppressed. We work in partnership to build opportunities and a better life for those who live at the margins.
We value leadership. A city's diverse leadership needs to be engaged. We value a Biblical view of leadership that seeks the welfare of others, uses everyone's gifts, heals divisions, and accomplishes the task.
We value the church. The whole church in a city has tremendous resources to bring. We unite the church to connect its resources with those of other sectors to renew our cities.
We value empowerment. Our work should not patronize, but free and empower.
We value reconciliation. This work requires listening, respect, not pointing fingers, and united work for the welfare of the city.
We value risk. Creativity, innovation, and courage will be required.
Leadership Development, Capacity Building and Community Transformation in New Orleans most vulnerable communities.
We believe in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Through Him and by Him were all things created. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Jesus was sent by the Father into the world to redeem and reconcile to God a fallen humanity by his suffering, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection. By grace, through faith, one is brought to relationship with God. This relationship for which humanity was created but lost through sin. Upon the resurrection, we will once again live with God in true relationship in Eternity.
