Organization Description: 

ULTRA (Urban Life Training and Reality Assessment) Teen Choice, under the direction of Richard Urban that has a six year history of reaching out to at risk youth in Wards 5,6, 7 and 8 providing prevention programs with an emphasis on primary behavior change. Richard Urban, the founder and Executive Director of ULTRA, has offered the Free Teens multimedia HIV/AIDS and teen pregnancy prevention program to students in grades 5-12 in Wards 5 6, 7 and 8 since 1997. In 2003 ULTRA Teen Choice began offering peer counselor training plus clubs at public schools, including Eastern Senior High School, which serves many youth from Wards 6 and 7, Kramer Middle School in Ward 8, and Stuart-Hobson Middle School in Ward 6.
ULTRA currently provides the STAR (Students Teaching Abstinence & Responsibility) program at two sites in Ward 6 for two different groups of youth: 4th to 6th grade, and 7th grade to young adults.
