Universal Community Development Foundation (UCODEF)
UCODEF NGO- initially operated in Kenya as Migori Community Based Orphans HIV/AIDS Center (MICOBA ORHIAC), a community based organization (CBO) whose focus was to alleviate the suffering and societal challenges that were faced by Persons Living with HIV/AIDs, including women, children and the youth. The CBO was founded in 2002 and operated within the larger Migori District in Nyanza Province within the Republic of Kenya.
In 2005, and upon experiencing steady growth and expansion in terms of types and quality of services delivery to the vulnerable populations, the CBO transformed to an indigenous Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) called MICOBA ORHIAC NGO. The NGO focused its scope of activities in Migori District with an expanded mandate as to programs and number of beneficiaries. This posed a challenge as to extending services to its growing clientele. Consequently, the Board of Directors together with the members of the Community sat in an Annual General Meeting of the MICOBA ORHIAC NGO on 31stMay 2007 and resolved to change the name of and the scope of the INGO, hence its subsequent registration as a National NGO under the names: ?UNIVERSAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (UCODEF)? on 24th December 2007.
The vision of our Organization is a Community-Driven Organization that promotes a vibrant, healthy and compassionate world where everyone is guaranteed of quality lifestyle devoid of deprivation and denial of fundamental human rights.
The Mission of UCODEF NGO is ?TOTAL HUMANITY CARE through provision of services, goods and interventions aimed at mitigating the socio-economic impacts of Diseases, Disability, Poverty and Ignorance while promoting measures to reduce global climate change through improved small scale land use and environment conservation activities?. We further ensure the Community Benefit Sector (i.e. the clients with whom we work and endeavor to serve) have practical tools for accomplishing those visionary ends. We do this work by convening, engaging, mobilizing and supporting the sector, to ensure we all have the means to make our world an amazing place.
The Organization?s overall goal is ?Quality Life for all in a Quality Environment?.

UCODEF -NGO?s Objectives and for which the volunteer?s input is sought include but not limited to the following:-
(a) Strategic Plan Development;
(b) Website Design and Development for the Organization?s Website;
(c) Project Design and Development for our Women, Children and the Disabled Persons Projects;
(d) Fundraising and Resource Mobilization to realize the above objects.
The Organization will provide housing and office to facilitate Volunteer?s work. An officer of the Organization will also be assigned to assist the Volunteer with all his/her acquaintance and orientation needs. It will be prudent for the Volunteer to get pocket allowance from
