UrbanPromise Ministries
UrbanPromise has been working with youth in the Camden, NJ area for the past 20 years. Current programs include several AfterSchool Programs and Summer Camps, the StreetLeader Program (a job training, education and Christian leadership program for high school students), the UrbanPromise Academy (a home-school model, alternative high school), the CamdenForward School (an elementary school), and the Intern Program (an educational and urban ministry training program for young adults from around the world).
The mission of UrbanPromise is to equip children and youth with the skills necessary for spiritual growth, academic achievement, life management and Christian leadership.
WE BELIEVE...
...that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is inspired of God and is of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
...in the Holy Spirit as the vital element in the revelation and operation of Christian faith.
...in one God eternally existing in three persons -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
...that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man and is the only sufficient Mediator between God and mankind.
...that people are created in the image of God and that they sinned and thereby incurred spiritual death.
...in the vicarious death of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins, in the resurrection of His body, His ascension into Heaven, and His personal and future return to the earth; and that salvation is received only through personal faith in Him.
...that a New Testament Church is a body of baptized believers, associated for worship, service, the spread of the Gospel and the establishing of the Kingdom in all the world.
