V2 LIFE

Organization Description:

V2 LIFE is a new work in Vanuatu aiming at training young people to become all God wants them to be through both non-formal training within the context of our farm and formal training within the context of our training center.

V2 LIFE is part of the family of ministries of Youth With A Mission International (YWAM) here in Vanuatu. Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. YWAM has operated for 50 years and is now established in more than 1000 locations in over 140 countries, with a full time volunteer staff of over 15,000. Its many ministries fit into three main categories: evangelism, training and mercy ministries. V2LIFE operates in relationship with YWAM Vanuatu and YWAM International through shared purpose, vision and values.

V2LIFE is responding to the need of young people in the area of training, both non-formal and formal, in order for them to be in a better position to succeed in today's demanding world.
The approach we are choosing to achieve this is a combination of living together, working together and studying together, three components that have been used successfully over the past decades in similar programs throughout the world. However, the center of it all is Christian Biblical worship. No matter what is done in the other three areas, it is always in light of this last and most important one.

DISCIPLESHIP FARM
The purpose of the Discipleship Farm is to
1. disciple young Ni-Vanuatu by
a. helping them to break their bad and even destructive life habits
b. helping them to form Bible based life-giving habits
c. teaching them skills relevant for their lives
d. working together with them to integrate them successfully into the Vanuatu society in however way they see God leading them.

2. teach and research methods and techniques in areas such as sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, alternative energies and healthcare for community development.

We achieve this through running a farm where participants and staff live, work and study together, through specific counseling and discipleship of each participant, and through corporate times of worship, intercession and teaching.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

As citizens of God's kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

We of Youth With A Mission believe:

that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's son; that people are created in God's image;

that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ;

that although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ;

that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's initiative of grace towards us;

that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth;

and that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment, "...Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).
