Organization Description:

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Victory Academy (formerly Covenant Christian Academy – High School) is a small, private co-educational Christian high school offering quality education from grades 7 through 11 inclusive of Special Education. The school was founded in 1987 by Drs. C. B. Peter Morgan and C. Patricia Morgan. In 2007 the school changed ownership and Victory Academy evolved under the leadership of Dianne Clarke who had served the school for 20 years as Principal, Administrator and Director.

The school is situated in a large upper middle class community and sits on a 12 acre property which it shares with Covenant Christian Academy (Preparatory/Elementary School)

Victory Academy continues the 22 year tradition of excellence of its predecessor, Covenant Christian Academy (High School Department), offering students an innovative curriculum, presented with creativity, in a warm, nurturing family-like atmosphere. The school is dedicated to cultivating well rounded, socially responsible students; full of wisdom and integrity, to impact their communities and by extension the nation.

Over the years, the school has attracted students from the USA, England, Canada, China, the Bahamas, Cayman, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and of course, Jamaica. Students have enjoyed the benefits of small classes, leadership training, the performing arts, sporting activities as well as training in social graces and etiquette.

Character training and development along with spiritual enrichment are core to the programmes of Victory Academy, resulting in well adjusted, disciplined students.

Godly values and attitudes are inculcated in the students, supported by a strong guidance and counseling programme.

Training in Social Graces & Etiquette culminates in a formal dinner where students are required to display what they have been taught. They are evaluated on the appropriateness of attire, their conduct and their social graces/etiquette. This is one of the high points of the school year.

Community service and outreach programmes are incorporated in the daily school life, as students are required to complete 40 hours of community service each year as a pre-requisite for graduation. In addition the school offers scholarships to select needy students from Jamaica’s inner city communities.
