Voices for Children
Voices for Children helps children in foster care through a network of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). CASAs are highly trained volunteers who are empowered by the court to become experts about their case children. CASAs are matched with one or more of San Diego's 6000 foster children who need their help. More than just a mentor, CASAs have access to legal, medical, educational, and other records and professionals. CASAs make recommendations to the court to ensure that the judge is informed about the children's unique needs.
CASAs are also a source of caring focus and stability. By developing a one-on-one relationship with their appointed child, they are able to understand their concerns and fears, and in many instances are the only consistent adult presence in that child‚’s life.
Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs).
